Incumbent Balaoan, La Union mayor, vice mayor ambushed in La Union

A convoy of Mayor Aleli Concepcion and Vice Mayor Alfred Concepcion of Balaoan, La Union was ambushed by unidentified suspects along the road in Barangay Cabuaan, Balaoan this morning at about 8:10 AM.

Chief Inspector Silverio Ordinado, spokesperson of the La Union provincial police, said the father and son mayor and vice mayor and their companions were rushed to the Balaoan District Hospital for treatment.

He said that follow up probe on the incident is ongoing. The victims were on board an Innova PN: AOG 966 and Hyundai Starex Van PN: SHZ 467 on their way to the municipal hall when they were strafed by still unidentified persons.
