Welcome to the AAF, where you're equally likely to see some of the more amazing, creative and brutal plays on a weekly basis. Sunday's San Diego Fleet-Atlanta Legends primetime game provided just that. Fleet quarterback Philip Nelson faced serious pressure from Atlanta's pass rush. In fact, he was sandwiched between three defenders. Instead of taking the sack, Nelson threw a backward pass over his head...and it was completed to former Dallas Cowboys tight end Gavin Escobar. No joke, just take a look.

Nelson is putting Patrick Mahomes to shame (well, at least for one week). But if the AAF had a version of a Madden-style video game, Nelson's awareness rating should be skyrocketed up to a 99.

The gauntlet has been laid down. Now it's time for Mahomes to replicate this next season.
