ORMOC CITY—A truck helper stranded at a local port due to Typhoon Bising was found floating at sea at the village of San Roque in Liloan town, Southern Leyte province early on Monday (April 19).

Bernie Bertulfo, 41, had a drinking session with fellow helpers around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday (April 17), according to Chief MSgt Roel Roche.

He said the victim was last seen lying down at the port’s gutter.

Bertulfo’s body was identified by his younger brother, Lerio.

Lerio said his brother talked with his live-in partner at dawn of Sunday (April 18).

“His last words were I’m falling,” Lerio said.

Police believed Bertulfo fell to the sea and drowned.
