Controversial Tiger Woods biography set to become TV mini-seriesBy Evening Standard

The life of Tiger Woods is set to be depicted on the small screen after a deal was struck up to turn a controversial biography of the 15-time Major champion into a scripted mini-series.

Jeff Benedict, author of ‘Tiger Woods’, released last year amid stern criticism from Woods and his camp, has agreed a deal with Wheelhouse entertainment, it was announced this week.

The biography, co-authored by Armen Keteyian, begins with Woods’ car accident in 2009 while sparked the public unravelling of his personal life following a series of affairs.

Woods has returned to the pinnacle of golf over the last 12 months, winning the Tour Championship at East Lake before claiming a historic fifth green jacket and 15th Major at The Masters in Apri.

“As a rabid sports fan, I had seen Jeff’s byline and read much of his work, always impressed by his insights and access into some pretty rarefied worlds,” Brent Montgomery, Wheelhouse CEO, said. “When I picked up Tiger Woods, I saw what a true force Jeff really is – and a compelling way to bring the Tiger Woods story to life as one of the most moving in sports history.”

The book became a New York Times best seller following its release in March 2018, though the Woods camp claim it is “littered with egregious errors.”
