Although he cannot officially be a part of the Los Angeles Lakers' pitch to Kawhi Leonard and his camp, Magic Johnson has spoke with Kawhi and his infamous uncle, Dennis Robertson, on a prelimnary basis in advance of a proper meeting about a potential move to SoCal, reports the LA Times' Brad Turner.

After what was a hectic start to free agency, with virtually all the big names coming off the board almost immediately after the window opened at 6 p.m. ET, Leonard still remains as the lone unsigned superstar.

He has decided to wait it out and listen to every team's pitch, with the Lakers being viewed as arguably the favorites to land Leonard's services. A sit-down with Magic certainly won't hinder Los Angeles' chances at signing Kawhi, and his addition to a LeBron James and Anthony Davis pairing would make the Lakers astronomical title favorites.

It certainly suits Kawhi's character to remain unsigned and take his time, but speaking with Magic before the official Lakers meeting points toward the dream team in LA. Johnson stepped away from the Lakers after last season, but has stated that his friendship with Jeanie Buss will continue to permit his unofficial involvement with the Lakers.

Where Leonard will go remains a mystery, but with Magic's help, the Lakers could be in for the best offseason anyone has ever seen.
