Even when it seems like if someone on the Yankees sneezed too hard, they'd end up on the 10-day IL, Gleyber Torres and the rest of the squad have persevered, leading the Yankees to first place in the AL East after 49 games with a bunch of veteran castoffs and players who started the year at Triple-A Scranton.

But don't you dare call them a Triple-A team.

After Thursday's 6-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles, Torres took the time to totally destroy all the haters who crossed the Yankees off following their injuries.

THAT'S. RIGHT. GLEYBER.

A team in which Gio Urshela, Thairo Estrada, and Cameron Maybin all get regular at-bats, while being led by a rotation of Domingo German and JA Happ is in first place. As unreal as it sounds, it's true.

They may not have the brand names like Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, but Urshela and that motley crew of replacements have been coming through time and time again with clutch hits.

Most Yankees fans would have been happy with the team holding their head above water at .500 at this point, but half of the Scranton/WIlkes-Barre RailRiders are crushing MLB pitching and winning games. Aaron Boone and the coaching staff have worked miracles this season.
