ATM fails to dispense cash, man loses Rs 20kBy HTS

India, Sept. 23 -- TT Nagar police have registered a case against unidentified miscreants who escaped with Rs 20,000 of an employee posted with wireless section of police in the city. According to the police the victim Manohar Kumar Pandey went to withdraw money from SBI ATM situated at Depot Square but failed to obtain money and after waiting for some time he left the ATM. Later he found that the cash was withdrawn. After the victim came to know that the money has been withdrawn he lodged a complaint with the TT Nagar police. After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 379 of the IPC and have started further investigation.

The victim in his complaint stated that he had gone to ATM of SBI at Depot square on September 16 and used his ATM card to withdraw Rs 20000. He entered the password after swiping the card but failed to get the cash as there was no response from the ATM machine he thought that the ATM machine was not having cash or facing some technical issue after which he cancelled the transaction and left the ATM. After he moved some distance he received message of withdrawal of Rs 20,000 from his bank account. He rushed to the ATM but failed to find the cash and later reached SBI bank and lodged a complaint regarding the theft of the cash. The victim is a constable and is posted with wireless section of police. Police said that the CCTV footage would be probed to nab the accused.
