We know Bond, James Bond! But who is the Bond of this Venkat Prabhu directorial starring Jai, Siva, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, Naasar, Shaam, Sampath and Nivetha Pethuraj? We will have to wait for the film to know that.
Meanwhile, the teaser of Party, which was released on Wednesday, asks one important question to be answered. Where is Bond?
Set in an island in Bangkok, this movie could be a heist parody. The teaser is high on all the elements that make for a fun party.
The music for this film is composed by Venkat Prabhu’s brother Premgi Amaren, who has been a permanent fixture in Venkat Prabhu films. The background score of the teaser elevates the mood and by the end of the 90-second video we are left in splits over Baahubali Sathyaraj’s avatar.
Venkat Prabhu is also well-known for infusing humour inspired from everyday life. In Party, he has made use of the government’s demonetisation move, complete with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech when he announced the move. Is the film about currency that is no longer useful after a heist?
Come to think of it, Venkat Prabhu has done it again. He has caught the attention of audience with a peek into the ‘Party’ Prabhu is ready to host soon.
Is the film looking for a New Year’s release? Or is the ‘Happy New Year’ in the teaser a mere coincidence? Siva answers, “They are planning to release the film soon.”
Party is Venkat Prabhu’s eighth directorial after Chennai 28 II innings and is produced by Amma Creations.
