IMF Trims 2020 Global Growth Forecast
The International Monetary Fund on Monday trimmed back its 2020 global growth forecasts due to sharper-than-expected slowdowns in India and other emerging markets.
IMF said global growth would reach 3.3 percent in 2020, compared to 2.9 percent in 2019, which was the slowest pace since the financial crisis a decade ago.
Challa Sreenivasulu Setty Appointed MD of SBI
The government on Monday appointed Challa Sreenivasulu Setty as the managing director of the State Bank of India for a period of three years, according to an official order.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of the Financial Services for the appointment of Setty, currently serving as the deputy managing director of the SBI, in the key post.

3 Sikhs Stabbed to Death in East London in Clash Within Community
Three British Sikhs were stabbed to death after a street fight between two groups within the community in east London, Scotland Yard said on Monday.
Two men, aged 29 and 29, have been arrested on suspicion of murder after an investigation was launched on Sunday night, when emergency services were called to an altercation in Seven Kings area of Redbrigde, Ilford, and found three men, aged in their 20s and 30s, suffering stab injuries.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

SARS-Like Virus Kills 3 in China, WHO to Hold Emergency Meeting
The World Health Organization said on Monday, 20 January, that a key emergency committee would meet this week to discuss a new SARS-like virus spreading across China after it reached three other Asian countries.
The decision came as a Chinese government expert said on Monday that the virus, which has so far killed three people, was contagious between humans, fuelling fears of a major outbreak as millions travel for the Lunar New Year holiday.
