Johnson discusses Brexit, trade issues with TrumpBy uniindia
Washington, Aug 20 (UNI) US Donald Trump spoke to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and discussed a range of trade and economic issues during a phone conversation, the White House said in a statement.
According to White House, they also discussed the United Kingdom’s decision to leave the European Union.

Trump expressed “great enthusiasm” for his upcoming meeting with Johnson during the phone call, which occurred days before the leaders are set to attend the annual Group of Seven summit being held in France.
'Great discussion with Prime Minister @BorisJohnson today.
We talked about Brexit and how we can move rapidly on a US-UK free trade deal.
I look forward to meeting with Boris this weekend, at the @G7, in France!,' Trump twitted on Monday.

Trump and Johnson have spoken multiple times since Johnson took over as prime minister in late July, replacing Theresa May.
The two leaders also spoke by phone just last week about trade and other global issues.
Trump has also mentioned that he is working with Johnson to broker a bilateral trade agreement between the US and the UK.
However, such an agreement would depend on whether the UK follows through with plans to leave the European Union.
Trump has offered complimentary remarks of Johnson, calling him a friend last month and predicting they would have a “great relationship.”
Meanwhile, Johnson has also made it clear that he wanted the United Kingdom to leave the European Union on October 31 "come what may," although he said he preferred an orderly exit.
