(Reuters) - Air Products and Chemicals Inc said on Tuesday it will provide natural gas liquefaction (LNG) technology and equipment to Qatar Petroleum's Qatargas for its LNG expansion project.

The industrial gases company said in a statement it will build the AP-X LNG heat exchangers at its Port Manatee, Florida, manufacturing facility for the first phase of Qatar Petroleum's [QATPE.UL] North Field East (NFE) project.

"Timing of NFE's Final Investment Decision (FID) and subsequent awards has been very fluid as the LNG market has shown some slack and concerns around COVID-19 continue," U.S. financial services firm Cowen & Co said in a note, adding that recent expectations pin FID toward year-end 2020 or sometime in 2021.
