Trump Requests Modi to Release Hydroxychloroquine Ordered by US
US President Donald Trump has said that he has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release the amount of hydroxychloroquine ordered by the United States after India last month banned the drugs for exports.
Trump said that he spoke to Prime Minister Modi on Saturday morning and made a request to release hydroxychloroquine for the US.
"I called Prime Minister Modi of India this morning. They make large amounts of Hydroxychloroquine. India is giving it a serious consideration," Trump said at his daily news conference at the White House on Saturday.
Seven Indian Nationals Among 75 New Coronavirus Cases Reported in Singapore
Seven Indian nationals are among the 75 new coronavirus cases confirmed in Singapore, taking the total infections to 1,189 since the deadly diseases broke out in the country.
Of the new cases, 69 are local infections. Six are imported with a travel history to Europe, North and South America and ASEAN, said the Ministry of health on Saturday.
Six Indian nationals, between the ages of 18 and 52, are on work passes.
The seventh is a 46-year old female Indian national on work pass at the Indian-origin mega store Mustafa Centre, which has been closed for two-weeks.
Cases in US Cross 300,000
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States has topped 300,000 and there have been more than 8,100 deaths, Johns Hopkins University reported on Saturday.
The Baltimore-based university, which has been keeping a running tally of global coronavirus numbers, said there are at least 300,915 confirmed virus cases in the US and there have been 8,162 deaths.
7 New Cases in Himachal Pradesh
Seven people tested positive for coronavirus in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, taking the total number of cases in the state to 14.
Two of them have already recovered, as many have died and 10 are active cases, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) RD Dhiman said.

7 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Karnataka Today
Seven fresh positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Karnataka from 5 pm on 4 April to 5 pm on 5 April, according to the state's Department of Health and Family Welfare Services. Two persons tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Bhubaneswar, raising the number of cases of the pandemic in Odisha to 23 on Sunday, reports PTI, citing a Health Department official.
A 70-year-old man from the Kapila Prasad Housing Board Colony Phase II, who had returned from Australia on 22 March, tested positive for COVID-19, a Health Department official said. A total of 16 out of the 23 patients in the state, are from Bhubaneswar.

Forty-seven fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in Rajasthan today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 253. Out of the 47 cases found to be positive today, 39 were found in Jaipur, according to the Rajasthan state health department.
58 Fresh COVID-19 Positive Cases Reported in Delhi
Fifty-eight new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Delhi today, taking the total number of positive cases in the city to 503, according to the Delhi government. This includes 320 who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat event, 61 who have a foreign travel history & 18 people who were discharged from hospital after recovering.

“During physical verification conducted by police at 517 addresses where people were home quarantined, it was found that 11 persons were not at home. 9 cases under Sec 188 IPC registered today and previously, 2 cases were registered in Shahdara,” he added.
8 Tanzanian Nationals Booked For Violating Quarantine Rules
Eight Tanzanian national have been booked for violating quarantine orders & visa rules in Pune. All of them belong to Tablighi Jamaat and had come to Pune on 11 March.
They were tested for COVID-19 on 24 March and all were found negative.

The Health Ministry on Sunday, 5 April said that it has come to its notice that Bione Ventures, Bengaluru is offering rapid single-use finger-prick test for coronavirus for sale which will give result in 5-10 minutes.
“Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation has not licensed the aforesaid diagnostic kit by Bione Ventures,” the ministry said, ANI reported.
Man Linked to Tablighi Jamaat Tested Positive in Kapurthala
On Sunday, 5 April, one out of 33 people of Tablighi Jamaat, has tested positive, ANI reported quoting Punjab Chief Secretary Karan Bir Singh Sidhu.
“He was living in Kot Karar Khan village in Kapurthala. He was residing at a mosque along with other Jamaatis,” Sidhu added.
Further, the chief secretary mentioned that the Kapurthala district administration is sealing the village, mosques and Gujjar dera and the said person is in an isolation ward of Civil Hospital, Kapurthala.

No new COVID-19 case was reported on Sunday, 5 April, from anywhere in Bihar, where a total number of 32 people have been afflicted with the virus, officials said, PTI reported.
Nearly 2,981 samples have been tested so far, of which 2,945 have come out negative and four have been rejected, while three people have recovered, a bulletin issued by the State Health Society said.

Probe Ordered into the Delay in Cremation of Padma Shri Nirmal Singh
Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes has directed Deputy Commissioner and Police Commissioner of Amritsar to probe the delaying of cremation of Padma Shri awardee Nirmal Singh, who had tested positive for COVID-19 and passed away on 2 April, ANI reported.
The state commission has asked the authorities to submit the report within seven days.
