REPORT: 'Mystery Owner' Flies in to Visit Bryce Harper at Winter MeetingsBy 12Up

The Bryce Harper sweepstakes is just getting started, and owners are pitching the superstar and potential face of their franchise at the prospect of switching cities.

Harper is all but done in DC, as he seeks a contract far greater than Washington (and many others, frankly) are willing to give. Nonetheless, the White Sox, Phillies and Dodgers have emerged as favorites to land his services.

But they're not alone. According to Jon Heyman, a 'mystery owner' has flown out to meet with Bryce.

Oh Jon, you just can't help but stir the pot, can you.

A quick look around the majors reveals very few potential suitors for Harper that haven't yet been discussed. Could the Cubs be more involved than originally expected?

Chicago's payroll concerns are well-documented, but the Ricketts family is 'reportedly' willing to spend more money on an iconic player. Enter Harper, stage left.

Okay, you have our attention. Harper is bound to sign the largest contract in baseball history, competing with only free agent counterpart Manny Machado for that title. But where will he land?

That's a mystery.
