Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), the online open world game that has developed a cult following across the world, is finally arriving on the PlayStation 4 on 7 December, The Verge reported. This will be a worldwide launch, NDTV further reported.

The game has already been listed on Amazon.com, with the base price of $30 (Rs 2,100 approx). There will be a survivor’s edition, which will cost $50 (Rs 3,500 approx) and a champions edition for $60 (Rs 4,200 approx) respectively.

The two additional versions offering bonus G-Coins and extra in-game rewards to the buyers, The Verge report said.

The pre-orders have already begun, however, the game is not available on either Amazon India or the PlayStation store in India yet.

This reveal has come after months of speculation and rumours of the game coming to one of the most widely-used gaming console.

The PS4 edition will give users access to three maps - Eragnel, Miramar and Sanhok.Screenshot of the game.

This also marks the end of the exclusivity Microsoft was enjoying for PUBG for its Xbox console. Since the game never really took off on Xbox as well as it did on PC and mobile phones, it will be interesting to see if PS4 will get more users than the Xbox.

“We’re excited to expand our PUBG service and introduce new communities to our Battle Royale game” Changhan Kim, CEO of PUBG Corp was quoted by The Verge as saying.

Changhan Kim, CEO, PUBG Corp“PlayStation has developed an amazing community of passionate gamers and we can’t wait to join them this holiday season.”
