New Delhi, Apr 22 (UNI) Director Rohit Shetty on Monday announced his next directorial 'Sooryavanshi', which will star Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles.

Katrina Kaif, who delivered several hits with Akshay Kumar, teams up after a long gap, and the movie will mark Katrina's first collaboration with director Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.

Taking to social networking site Instagram, Rohit shared the picture and said, "Welcome to our Cop Universe Katrina Kaif... Our Sooryavanshi Girl."

Akshay Kumar tweeted, 'Welcome to our COP UNIVERSE #KatrinaKaif...OUR SOORYAVANSHI GIRL #RohitShetty @karanjohar @RelianceEnt @RSPicturez @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms'.

Taking to Instagram, Katrina said, 'Super excited to join the team of sooryavanshi with the incredible @itsrohitshetty for the first time , cant wait to be back on set with @akshaykumar after soooooo long and the inimitable @karanjohar @reliance.entertainment @rohitshettypicturez @dharmamovies #CapeOfGoodFilms'.

Akshay and Katrina have co-starred in films such 'Namaste London', 'Welcome', 'Singh is King' and were last seen in the film 'Tees Maar Khan', which was released in the year 2010.

The film is the second spin-off of the movie Singham series. 'Sooryavanshi' will be releasing next year during Eid.

Akshay Kumar had appeared in the end of the film 'Simmba' as a cop named Sooryavanshi, which was Rohit Shetty's quirky way revealing that Akshay Kumar will be starring in the film 'Sooryavanshi'.

Akshay was recently seen in the movie 'Kesari. He will also be seen in the movie 'Housefull 4', which is going to be directed by Farhad Samji.
