'Make Baleswar MCH ready before MCI visit'By HTS

India, Sept. 23 -- The Estimates Committee of the State Assembly, which visited Baleswar on Thursday, has stressed on readying the upcoming Baleswar Medical College and Hospital (MCH) in all respects before the inspection by Medical Council of India (MCI) team.

The committee headed by Sanjay Dasburma visited the college campus at Remuna and also inspected the facilities at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Emphasis was laid on construction of a big gate, approach roads and, inscription of name of the college and illumination, etc. After going around various wards and departments in the DHH, the committee members also examined the quality of food provided at the Aahaar centre in the DHH campus. They stressed on expeditious execution of the pending works for the MCH and submission of utilisation certificates.

Besides, the committee asked the Works and RD Departments to accelerate the tendering process for the approved projects, including the Biju Setu projects, and prepare designs and estimates for fresh projects. Discussions were also held on the survey of the proposed highway between Digha and Gopalpur under the Sagarmala scheme. Besides, a reviews were made on the progress achieved in making the district open defecation-free, rural housing, minor irrigation, industries and sanitation, etc.
