One of the coolest additions to Fortnite Chapter 2 was the whirlpool. While they're appealing to look at, whirlpools also serve as an easy mode of transportation for players.

There appears to be an issue with many whirlpools around the map. Players are upset, as some punch cards actually require whirlpools to complete, while others have complained of wasting materials unnecessarily when a whirlpool could've launched them to their desired location.

The issue was first brought to light by a Reddit user called Vrixx, who shared his frustrating whirlpool experience with other players on the Fortnite Competitive page. According to the image posted by Vrixx, whirlpools are disappearing randomly.

Epic Games Responds to Disappearing Whirlpools Bug

The issue was quickly brought to the attention to Epic Games, as Fortnite players never fail to complain about bugs. The response from devs was a simple, "We're investigating this," but any acknowledgment of an issue is comforting to players.

According to the Trello card regarding the bug, the issue is happening exclusively in arena and custom matches, so it won't affect a majority of Fortnite players. However, those who enjoy playing custom matches will hope the problem is resolved soon.

This is not the first time whirlpools have experienced glitches since the start of Chapter 2 Season 3. There was also a recent no-damage glitch that affected a large number of players.

It is currently unknown when the issue of disappearing whirlpools will be resolved, but fans and players alike will hope that it's sooner rather than later. Typically, when the issue is small and affects only one item in the Fortnite universe, it can be resolved quickly.
