Actress Debra Messing has been slamming the liberal media for presenting excuses after Darrell Brooks allegedly drove his red SUV through a Christmas parade on Sunday. The actress blasted media for turning a blind eye towards domestic terror attacks.
Debra Messing blasted the liberal media outlets for calling the Waukesha parade a 'crash'. Tweeting about the incident and showing her concern for the people who have lost their lives, Messing wrote, "Dear mainstream media- a man intentionally drove his car through a parade killing 6 and injuring 50+. It was not an ACCIDENT. Call it by its name #WaukeshaMassacre and it was a domestic terror attack."
She further requested the media to not minimize the gravity of the incident by calling it a mere crash while many people have lost their lives and many got injured. She wrote, "Don't minimize. Please."
Messing is often known for being outspoken and expressing her opinions on various issues. She uses her social media for a better cause. Recently, she shaded Kim Kardashian for hosting Saturday Night Live. Last year, she also supported police reform and the social justice movement.
Considered to be an outspoken actress, Messing's views about the Wisconsin parade killer, prompted the conservatives to agree with her and voice about the incident.
The executive director of Right On Crime, Brett Tolman, a conservative U.S. criminal justice reform initiative, tweeted in response to her tweet. "This is how it starts. Good for her," he wrote.
Political satirist, Tim Young also supported the actress and wrote, "Wait...what? I agree with Debra Messing for the first time ever." Brandon Morse, the deputy managing editor of RedState (a conservative blog) also tweeted and wrote, "I can't believe I'm going to say this but Debra Messing is right!"
Rita Panahi also reacted to Messing's tweet and wrote, "I'm RTing & in full agreement with Debra Messing. Did I wake up in a parallel universe?"
The suspected killer, Brooks, was accused of murdering six people and injuring 62 others after driving his car over them during a holiday parade. The 39-year-old has been charged with the first-degree intentional homicide of five people. The Waukesha County District Attorney, Susan Opper has revealed that additional charges relating to the death of the sixth person and more than 60 injured people will be announced later this week or next. If convicted, Brooks will face a mandatory life sentence.
The sixth victim of the incident, eight-year-old Jackson Sparks, revealed on his GoFundMe page before his death that he was walking in the parade with his 12-year-old brother Tucker, who also got injured in the accident and will be discharged from the hospital soon.
