Guevarra made the statement after Faeldon offered to go on leave while his son is being investigated over alleged involvement in illegal drugs activities.

“I told him that until and unless a reasonable ground to believe that his son is involved in drug use has been shown, I see no reason why Chief Faeldon should go on leave,” said Guevarra.

Faeldon had also said he will also resign should his son been involved in illegal drugs.

Faeldon’s son, Nicanor Jr., 32, and three others were arrested by joint police and military forces in a suspected drug den in Naga City.

The others arrested were identified as Russel Lanuzo alias Bubbles, 47, the subject of the operation; Allan Valdez, 44; and Manuel Nebres, 39.

The operation was conducted at the strength of search warrant issued by Vice Executive Judge Timoteo Panga Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 60 in Iriga, Camarines Sur.

Authorities seized from their possession seven heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu.
