Odisha Export Policy soon: CMBy HTS

India, Sept. 23 -- In order to maintain high export rate and to ensure 'Ease of Doing Business' to exporters, the State would soon introduce a special strategy called 'Odisha Export Policy 2017'.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced this while inaugurating a workshop on 'Export Strategy of Odisha' here.

He said the State is now in the process of accommodating all export related organisations under a single roof while claiming that the State had registered a significant growth in the field of exports since 2001-02.

The export turnover of Odisha which was merely Rs 5,063 crore in 2001-02, increased to Rs 40,872 crore in 2016-17, Patnaik said.

MSME Minister Prafulla Samal said the upward trend is a good indication for the export trade in future.

Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) MSME, L N Gupta said a 'Raptani Bhavan' (export house) would be set up soon to provide single window facilities to the exporters in the State.

As many as 19 best exporters of the State were awarded on the occasion. The Nalco was awarded with the Best Exporters Award for highest export turnover in terms of value.

The Central Government's Commerce Director Praveen Bonigala and FIEO CEO Ajai Sahai also spoke.
