Bayern Munich vs Tottenham: Prediction, team news, how to stream and watch on TV - Champions League previewBy Evening Standard

Both Bayern Munich and Tottenham have secured their places in the knockout stages, but with these two sides having mustered nine goals in their last meeting, it’ll still be one to watch.

Bayern - courtesy of four goals from former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry - smashed Spurs 7-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in October, but both clubs have since parted with their then managers.

Niko Kovac is no longer in the Bayern dugout, with Hans-Dieter Flick placed in temporary charge, while Jose Mourinho has succeeded Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham boss.

Wednesday’s match will Mourinho’s first away outing in the Champions League with Spurs, having won 4-2 at home to Olympiacos to book their place in the Last 16.

Both sides are expected to rest players on Wednesday, so could revenge be in the offing for Tottenham, or will Bayern simply have too much firepower for the Premier League side?

Match details

Fixture: Bayern Munich vs Tottenham

Venue: Allianz Arena, Munich, Germany

Kick-off: 8pm GMT, Wednesday December 11

Team news

Bayern Munich: Corentin Tolisso (thigh) and Jermome Boateng (stubbed toe) are both expected to be fit despite being taken off injured in the weekend defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach.

But Michael Cuisance is set to miss the match after sustaining an injury in training.

Tottenham: With qualification to the knockout stages already secured, Mourinho confirmed in the lead-up to Saturday’s Premier League match with Burnley that he would look to rest some of his players in Munich on Wednesday.

Harry Kane will not feature - the Spurs boss has already confirmed that - so that could see Troy Parrott given an extended run-out, if not from the start then almost certainly from the bench. Kyle Walker-Peters and Ryan Sessegnon are likely to start.

There are injury doubts over both Harry Winks (ankle) and Tanguy Ndombele (ankle), while Hugo Lloris (elbow), Michel Vorm (calf), Ben Davies (ankle) and Erik Lamela (thigh) are definitely ruled out.

How to stream and watch on TV

The match will be televised live on BT Sport 2 and BT Sport Ultimate, and can be streamed live online via the BT Sport video player and the BT Sport app.
