Delhi polls: BJP joins hands with JD(U), LJPBy uniindia
New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday formally announced its alliance with Janata Dal (United) (JDU) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) for the Delhi Assembly Polls.

Addressing the press conference here at the party’s unit office at Pandit Pant Marg, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said, 'We will fight together in this assembly polls.
We have given two seats to JDU while one seat has been allotted to LJP.'

'We have given Burari and Sangam Vihar assembly seats to JDU.
Seemapuri's reserved assembly seat will be represented by LJP candidate," Mr.
Tiwari added.

“On remaining 67 seats, BJP will fight with the full support of JDU and LJP.
The workers of both these parties will apprise about the public welfare schemes of Central Government by making public contact in the lanes and Mohallas of Delhi and also about the failures of Aam Aadmi Party Government,' Mr Tiwari said.

Mr Tiwar offered his gratitude to Nitish Kumar and Ram Vilas Paswan for making the alliance.

After officially announcing the alliance, Mr Tiwari said, "I thank Mr Nitish Kumar of JD (U) and Mr Ram Vilas Paswan & Chirag Paswan of LJP because people are very much enthusiastic about this alliance in Delhi.
The position of BJP will be strengthened in the areas where JD (U) and LJP have influence,” he said.

Addressing the reporters, Sanjay Jha, National General Secretary of JDU said, "We have fielded Shailender Kumar who is also Pradesh Vice President from Burari.
He has already filled his from Sangam Vihar.
He too has filled his nomination.”

"Our leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will also join the election campaign in Delhi.
Our party is going to contest elections in Delhi for the first time and we are following the alliance Dharma and due to this there is great zeal among the people of Delhi and it will have a positive influence on the Elections, the Bihar Minister added.


A K Bajpai, National spokesperson of LJP, who was also there, said, "The ruling AAP Government of Delhi made many promises to the people but when the time came for fulfilling the promises then they misled by false advertisement.
People are angry and there is anti ruling party wave in Delhi which will dislodge the Arvind Kejriwal Government and form NDA alliance Government in Delhi.”

“LJP patriach and Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan and his son Chirag Paswan, along with other leaders will also campaign in the elections,” he added.


Earlier, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) had refused to fight the election with BJP due to differences over Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
SAD has one MLA in 70 member Delhi Assembly.

The national capital will go to polls on February 8 to elect the seventh Assembly.
The outcome of the election will be declared on February 11.
