Indian cricketers have scored more hundreds in One-day internationals than batsmen from any of the other competing nations.

As at the time of sunrise on Saturday, Indian batsmen had scored a total of 283 hundreds in ODIs – 60 more than Australia, who with 223 hundreds, had the second-highest tally of three-figure scores in the format.

Over the years, the Indian team has played in eight one-day internationals at the venue, but not one Indian batsman has reached the three-figure score.

The highest score by an Indian batsman in ODIs at Old Trafford in Manchester is 89 – made by the middle-order batsman Yashpal Sharma in the 1983 World Cup match against West Indies.

Come Sunday, 16 June, Indian batsmen will have the opportunity to break that century-less record at the venue. Who will become India’s first centurion in ODIs at the venue, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, or someone else
