Man stabbed in East Dulwich with local restaurant Spinach cordoned off following attack
A man was stabbed in East Dulwich, with a upmarket restaurant cordoned off following the attack.
The unnamed man was knifed in or outside the Spinach restaurant on Lordship Lane at 4.15pm this afternoon - though details of what happened are still emerging.
One Twitter user said online a friend saw someone take cover in the restaurant after being run off the road by a mopen.
Tom Cullen suggested an eye-witness told him the victim was then stabbed inside the restaurant.
“Stabbing at or outside Spinach. Apparently a moped with two lads ran another off the road, took refuge at spinach and was stabbed. Unsure of condition.”
Pip Horton reported: “Lordship Lane currently blocked at junction with Bawdale Road due to a police incident .”
Labour MP for Dulwich & West Norwood Helen Hayes wrote: “Very concerned to hear about a stabbing on Lordship Lane this afternoon.
“My thoughts with the victim receiving treatment in hospital & all who witnessed this appalling, traumatic violence. If you have any information please contact the police or @CrimestoppersUK”
The area has been cordoned off as the investigation continues.
The Met Police confirmed officers were called at 4.15pm alongside the London Ambulance Service.
The victim has been rushed to hospital. An update on his condition awaits.
Southwark Police tweeted: “Officers are on scene in #LordshipLane#EastDulwich after a male was stabbed at approx 4:15pm this afternoon - he has been taken to hospital for treatment. No arrests; enquiries continue. If you can help, pls call 101 and quote CAD5053/19Apr.”
No arrests have been made.
