Colts' Darius Leonard Rips Bleacher Report on Twitter for Old Article Calling Him a Bad Draft PickBy 12Up

NFL rookies are judged and evaluated, often harshly, before they even take the field for their first snap. While analyst's predictions do sometimes come to fruition, there are many examples in which players far outperform their perceived talent level.

Well, that's been the case for Colts star linebacker Darius Leonard, and he decided to call out some of his haters. Leonard took aim at Bleacher Report over an old article of theirs, in which they crowned him as "one of the draft's worst picks."

Boy, were they wrong about that one, and Leonard made sure to remind them about just how erroneous their prediction turned out to be.

Last season, Leonard, whom the Colts selected in the early second round, was an absolute beast on the defensive side of the ball. The linebacker logged seven sacks and a league-high 163 tackles, leading the defensive unit which allowed just 21.5 points per game. He was also named a first-team All-Pro, and the Colts reached the AFC Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Unfortunately, Leonard has had an injury-riddled 2019 season, sidelining him for all but two games of the season, though he did record a sack alongside 18 tackles in his limited action.

If one thing's clear, it's that Leonard has far-outlived his expectations upon entering the league, and he's making that hot take from Bleacher Report look worse with each passing game.
