Draymond Green received a one-game suspension without pay from the Golden State Warriors for "conduct detrimental to the team" in the fallout from Monday night's explosive exchange with All-Star teammate Kevin Durant.
Green was set to serve his suspension during Tuesday night's home game against the Atlanta Hawks and reportedly sacrifice more than $120,000 in the process.
Some teammates loudly confronted Green in the locker room for his decision-making on the final play of regulation of the 121-116 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, league sources told ESPN. The intensity in the locker room was heightened because the matter of Durant's impending free agency reportedly was raised.
The organization spent Tuesday dealing with the aftershocks of Monday night's confrontation, while working through the issues involving the team's dynamic, according to league sources.
--Brooklyn Nets guard Caris LeVert did not suffer any fractures and will not require surgery to repair the ligament damage from Monday's scary incident in Minnesota, the team announced.
LeVert returned to New York with the team following the 120-113 loss to the Timberwolves. He was evaluated at the Hospital for Special Surgery and diagnosed with a subtalar dislocation of his right foot.
LeVert, 24, has averaged a career-high 18.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 14 games this season. The breakout third-year star is the only NBA player this season to convert multiple game-winning baskets with fewer than 10 seconds remaining in regulation or overtime.
--Jimmy Butler said he was "very excited" to join the Philadelphia 76ers during his introductory news conference at the team's practice facility.
The 29-year-old All-Star swingman has averaged 21.8 points a game since the start of the 2014-15 season. After one season in Minnesota, he told the Timberwolves just before training camp he wanted a change of scenery. The fallout raised questions about whether he is a good teammate.
"If you know me, if you're around me, you know my heart," Butler said. "You know how I go about what I go about. I love my teammates. I don't think there's too many of them that'll tell you that I'm a bad teammate, but people get whatever they want to say out. It is what it is, but I think that I'm an incredible human being and teammate, and I'll show that to the guys that are here."
--Detroit Pistons guard Luke Kennard will undergo two more weeks of rehabilitation on his right shoulder, the team announced.
Kennard suffered a sprained AC joint Oct. 25 in a game against Cleveland when he ran into a screen set by the Cavaliers' Tristan Thompson.
The 22-year-old, is averaging 5.7 points in three games this season. A first-round draft selection in 2017, the Duke product averaged 7.6 points in 73 games as a rookie.
