Though Rohit Shetty’s cop universe expanded with Simmba and now Sooryavanshi, no one can deny that Singham remains the classic favorite cop-action film. Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham stole our hearts and the power packed action left us wanting for more.

As the film clocks eight years, Ajay took to Twitter to thank the audience for their love, reminiscing the film's dialogues and the high-octane action scenes. “गलत क्या है वो जानने से कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता, गलत को सही करने से पड़ता है! 22nd July. #8years to invincible dialogues, car rattles, power-packed action and the fearless character #BajiraoSingham. It's the love of the audience #Singham still roars this loud. #RohitShetty and Team,” the actor wrote.

Singham was a remake of the Tamil film Singam, featuring Suriya. The film also starred Kajal Agarwal, Sonali Kulkarni and Prakash Raj as the antagonist. The 2011 release performed well at the box-office, and the makers expanded the cop universe with Singham Returns in 2014. Ranveer Singh's 2018 blockbuster Simmba and Akshay Kumar's upcoming Sooryavanshi are spin-offs of the same series.

Ajay is also co-producing the Punjabi remake of "Singham", which is scheduled to release on August 9. On the work front, he will be next seen in Bhuj: The Pride of India as Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik.
