For country music singer Kane Brown the year 2015 was a huge one. He not only released his EP titled 'Closer' but also met his future wife Katelyn Jae. Flash forward to five years later, and the couple is happily married and has even added a daughter to their family.
Kane was out on the Worldwide Beautiful Tour last March when Covid-19 forced him to postpone or cancel the rest of his tour a few weeks after headlining a sold-out show at Staples Center in Los Angeles. All was not lost as he picked up his first ACM Award, this year, for the video to "Worldwide Beautiful". How did Kane Brown and Katelyn Jae meet?
The couple met in 2015 while Kane was working on a project in Florida. In an interview with Taste of Country Nights, Kane revealed that he met his future wife at one of his shows. He said, "She came to one of my shows, and the first time I saw her, it was the shy giddiness. I didn't know what was going to happen. She lived in Orlando [and] was in Miami." Although Kane was instantly drawn to Katelyn, he didn't speak to her during their first meeting. He instead messaged her on Instagram the next day. "I messaged her on Instagram the next night and said, 'Hey, when are we going to hang out?' and flew her down," Kane shared, "and she hasn't left since."
Although they both were seeing each other they chose to keep their relationship under wraps until January 2017. Kane shared a beautiful Facebook post to announce to the world that he was in a relationship. He wrote, "I know a lot has been going good for me this past year, but being away from my family and friends, it's been tough. Luckily I found my other half." "I know a lot of people might get mad I'm in a relationship, but if you're a true fan u won't. She keeps me Sane, she keeps me happy, she's my girl. God Bless. [sic]," he added.
The couple's 2017 engagement was a very unique one. Kane popped the question while they were watching 'The Amityville Horror'. In an interview with PEOPLE, the 27-year-old singer admitted that it was a "weird proposal", but he "just couldn’t wait" for the romantic gesture he planned involving "rose petals and everything like that."

The couple had a fall wedding in Franklin, Tennessee. Around 200 of their closest friends and family members attended the wedding celebrations. The couple had a traditional wedding and opted to exchange personal letters with their vows to each other privately instead.
In 2019, the couple welcomed their first child together, a beautiful baby girl named Kingsley Rose Brown. According to a report in The Boot, Kingsley's name comes from Kane and Katelyn's idea for a son's name, Kingston. Her middle name, Rose, on the other hand, is a name from Katelyn's side of the family. Due to the pandemic, Kane has been able to spend more time at home with his wife and newborn daughter. "I do look at this as kind of a blessing and a curse, of course, but the blessing for me is just getting to see everything she does. I’m not missing one second," he said. While the singer is excited to watch his little girl grow, he is also keen on adding another child to their family.
