Manila, July 10 -- The number of police officers infected with the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has reached 1,006 as 25 more police officers contracted the disease.

As of Thursday evening, the PNP Health Service said out of the new cases, eight are from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas; seven from National Capital Region Police Office; four from PRO 4-A (Calabarzon), two from Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup) and one each from National Headquarters, Special Action Force (SAF), Highway Patrol Group (HPG) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Meanwhile, 455 PNP personnel have already recovered from the disease while the death toll stands at nine.

The PNP Health Service is also monitoring 651 probable cases and 1,252 suspected cases.
