'The Flash' Season 6: The Scarlet Speedster will face off against an old foe in the post-Crisis worldBy Meaww

'The Flash' is all set to return on The CW in February and the network has released the official synopsis for 'Love is a Battlefield', the second new episode. Post the events of the multiverse redefining 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will face-off against Amunet.

The official synopsis reads: "LOVE IS IN THE AIR – Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) plan a romantic dinner for Valentine’s Day but their evening is interrupted by an old foe – Amunet (guest star Katee Sackhoff). Meanwhile, Frost (Danielle Panabaker) gets into the holiday spirit and attempts to help Allegra (guest star Kayla Compton) reconnect with an old love. Sudz Sutherland directed the episode written by Kelly Wheeler & Jeff Hersh."

It also remains to be seen if Barry may have seen the last of Bloodwork (Sendhil Ramamurthy). The chilling foe was finally defeated just before the 'Crisis' and now with Barry making it out the epic battle alive, it's interesting to see how he goes about tackling threats— old and new. Also adding to this is the Allegra plotline. In her brief encounter with Tom Cavanagh's Harrison Nash Wells, it was revealed the pair had some sort of secret between them. The episode will most likely shed light on this past reference as well.

Showrunner Eric Wallace has previously said 'The Flash' will be divided into pre- and post-Crisis and now the second half will most likely revolve around the aftermath of the multiverse-shattering battle. Plus there is also that plot point teasing the return of Kid Flash. Seems like the Scarlet Speedster has a lot of homework to do.

What are your thoughts on the Allegra-Nash Wells plotline?

'The Flash' returns to The CW on February 4 with 'Marathon'.
