'Game of Thrones' Was Voted Russia's Favorite Foreign TV ShowBy Floor8

At least Game of Thrones is winning somewhere.

Despite complaints from fans, a petition to remake Season 8, and Google tweaks to put showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss at the top of the list of results for “bad writers,” the HBO series is doing well in other parts of the world. According to The Moscow Times, Thrones is Russia’s most-beloved foreign TV show. The website reports that the Levada Center polling agency determined that Thrones came out with 27% of viewers claiming it as their favorite.

Close behind Thrones is British detective show Sherlock at 25%, along with long-running hospital drama House, coming in at 24%. The recent HBO hit miniseries Chernobyl came in at 22%, tying with fan-favorite series Lost.

The poll surveyed 1,608 people in over 50 regions throughout Russia between June 27 to July 4. The results also determined that 62% of Russian viewers had watched a foreign TV show, and 35% had never.
