BREAKING: Sonny Gray Scratched From Saturday Start With Elbow StiffnessBy 12Up

Sonny Gray's time in Cincinnati is not off to the best start.

Spring Training is underway, which means baseball is finally here. But it won't begin just yet for the former All-Star, as Gray has been scratched from tomorrow's scheduled start due to right elbow stiffness.

Nothing like an injury to push back your debut and raise uncomfortable questions about your health going forward. You can feel the Reds preparing to sit in the basement of the division already.

It's a sour start to the season for Cincy, who previously announced that Gray would get the ball for their Cactus League opener this season. The hurler was recently acquired from the Yankees after an offseason filled with rumors about New York inevitably shipping him out of town, and was considered a candidate for at least a modest bounce-back season.

It's an opportunity to start fresh for Gray, who had a terrible season with the Yankees a year ago, particularly in home games. He'll now get to play for his dad's favorite team.

That is, when he's healthy enough.

There's no timetable on how long this elbow issue will keep Gray off the mound. The Reds have got to be hoping it's a simple Spring Training hiccup and not something that is going to trip him up for any notable period time during the regular season.

If this is something that plagues him on an ongoing basis, don't be surprised if the locals start blaming the Evil Empire for shipping over damaged goods.
