Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott ignited a firestorm in Twitter when he reportedly turned down a five-year, $175 million offer from Jerry Jones that would have made him the highest-paid quarterback in all of football.

Luckily for Cowboys fans, Adam Schefter put out the fire as it relates to that development, as he claims that the only development he has heard regarding Prescott's new deal was the fact Dak wants a shorter deal than what the organization is looking for.

Prescott wanting a shorter deal has always been the roadblock, so very little has changed on that front.

Chris Simms was the one who originally reported that Prescott turned down a $175 million deal because he wanted to make upwards of $45 million in the final year of his deal. If we are to believe Schefter, however, that offer has not been presented to him just yet.

Even if he puts up much better numbers than most Eagles and Redskins fans want you to think, Prescott does not deserve a contract anywhere near $40 million for one season. Turning it down sounded completely crazy, and Schefter confirmed that Prescott's mind hasn't been so warped that he refused to take a deal that would have made him the highest-paid QB in the league.
