President Duterte garnered majority support and high performance rating among top government officials, a survey from the WR Numero Research showed.

The survey, conducted from October 12 to 17, 2020 among 5,000 respondents found that among the top five government officials in the Philippines, the President received the highest support at 54 percent and 22 percent moderate support.

WR Numero Research said that eight percent have low support and 10 percent said they do not support the President at all.

For Vice President Leni Robredo, 11 percent expressed high support while 21 percent have low support, and 31 percent had no support at all. There were 17 percent who had moderate support; while 20 percent were unsure.

Senate President Tito Sotto, on the other hand, received mostly moderate support at 37 percent while 23 percent said they have high support towards him; 13 percent expressed low support, while six percent said they do not support him at all.

WR Numero Research said that similar to Sotto, House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano also received mostly moderate support at 30 percent and high support at 16 percent.

Meanwhile, he received low support at 18 percent and 14 percent expressed no support at all. Lastly, Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta received mostly an unsure response at 48 percent; 28 percent and eight percent expressed moderate and high support, respectively. 11 percent said they have low support towards him, while five percent does not support him at all.

On the other hand, among government agencies, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) received the highest support at 32 percent and moderate support at 26 percent, followed by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) at 26 percent high support and 28 percent moderate support.

WR Numero Research said that most of the respondents are unsure on the level of support they have for various government agencies.

Meanwhile, in terms of the level of happiness towards the performance of top government officials in the fulfillment of their respective duties, President Duterte received mostly positive results with 50 percent saying they are very happy and 23 percent said they are happy, while 10 percent and 12 percent said they are unhappy and very unhappy, respectively.

On the performance of Robredo, 17 percent are happy and 10 percent said they are very happy while 57 percent are at least unhappy, with 35 percent very unhappy.

WR Numero Research said that respondents are at least happy towards Sotto’s performance at 59 percent, with 22 percent saying they are very happy;12 percent are unhappy and seven percent are very unhappy.

Most respondents are also happy towards the performance of Cayetano as House Speaker at 30 percent, while16 percent said they are very happy; 33 percent are at least unhappy towards his performance.

Lastly, half of the respondents are unsure towards the performance of Peralta as Chief Justice; 25 percent are happy and eight percent are very happy; only 17 percent are at least unhappy.

More than a third of respondents are very unhappy towards the performance of the Department of Health, while they are very happy towards the performance of the AFP. Most respondents are unsure towards the other government agencies included in the survey.

WR Numero Research gathered the data for this report through a mobile app-based survey using quota sampling of 5,000 Filipino adult respondents nationwide.
