Train service resumes in KashmirBy uniindia
Srinagar, Dec 11 (UNI) Train service resumed on Tuesday after remaining suspended for a due to security reasons in Kashmir valley, where separatists had called for a general strike to highlight the alleged human rights violation in Kashmir.

'All train runs in Kashmir valley have been resumed today following a fresh advisory received from police last night,' a senior railway official told UNI.

He said trains will chug on Srinagar-Badgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir today, he said.

Similarly, he said train will run on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region.
First trains have left from their respective destinations, he said.

“We cannot help since we have to act as per advisory received from the police,” the official said.
Train service, which is economical, safe and fast against other modes of transport, has become very popular, particularly among passengers travelling daily from north to south and Banihal.
He said railway authority cannot ignore the advisory since the safety and security of passengers and railway staff was important.
