Dolphins Need to Ditch Any Joe Burrow Trade Talks With Bengals After Latest Tua Tagovailoa UpdateBy 12Up

With the NFL Draft starting on April 23, the Cincinnati Bengals currently are in the driver's seat to select Joe Burrow with the first pick. Other teams, like the Miami Dolphins, are rumored to be trying to pry that pick away via trade. The Dolphins are in desperate need of quarterback help, but really shouldn't overthink this.

After the latest news on Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins may just want to hold off on sacrificing the future of the franchise just to select Burrow. The health status of Tagovailoa, who has been recovering from surgery to repair a broken hip, has been up in the air with the draft just three weeks away. The former Alabama quarterback, however, seems confident his ability to play an NFL game right now.

This is fantastic news, first off, for Tagovailoa, who feared the worst after suffering the injury against Mississippi State back in November. For the Dolphins, this must eliminate any notion that trading for Burrow is needed. Tua has all the qualities of a franchise quarterback in the NFL, and yet another positive update on his health will provide comfort for a previously-worried Dolphins front office.

Even if the Dolphins rate Burrow higher than Tua, it doesn't justify the price tag needed to trade up to the No. 1 spot in the NFL Draft. Tagovailoa is a franchise-changing talent behind center. Miami should come to terms with that already.
