'Knives Out 2': Release date, plot, cast and all you need to know about the Daniel Craig whodunnit sequelBy Meaww

Slick and sharp, 'Knives Out' has found a place in the Top 10 at the domestic box office, since its release six weeks ago. The thriller told the tale of a wealthy family and their nurse (Ana De Amras) who undergo investigation by a detective (Daniel Craig) after the patriarch of the family is murdered under mysterious circumstances. Critics praised the film, and 'Knives Out' was nominated for Best Comedy Picture at the Golden Globes. The film had a stellar cast, which included Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis and Ana De Amras.

And now, director Rian Johnson told The Hollywood Reporter that he would be making a sequel to the whodunnit blockbuster.

Release date

Rian Johnson told THR that he was eager to make the film quickly, ideally next year. So we can expect a late 2021 release, or in 2022, for that matter.

Plot

Johnson said in this film, Craig's character Benoit Blanc would be working on a new case.

Cast

It is to be expected that Daniel Craig would return to his role, and Johnson's producing partner Ram Bergman said Craig was 'eager' to reprise the role. He achieved international fame after portraying the role of James Bond in 'Casino Royale', which earned him a BAFTA nomination. Following this, he did several Bond films, including 'Quantum Of Solace', 'Skyfall' and 'Spectre'. He will return for the final film, 'No Time To Die', which will release on April 10, 2020. The other cast members are still uncertain.

Director

Rian Johnson is known for his neo-noir film 'Brick', the comedy 'Brothers Bloom', 'Looper' and 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi', for which he received much flak from fans. He also helmed three episodes of the crime drama, 'Breaking Bad'.
