It is learnt that Mukesh Ambani's eldest son Akash Ambani has proposed to his girlfriend Shloka Mehta in Goa. They are slated to marry later this year.

While Ambani is the one the richest and most influential industrialists in the country, Shlokas father Russel Mehta is the owner of Rosy Blue Diamonds, counted among the worlds largest diamond specialists.

Akash, 27, is the elder son of Reliance Industries baron Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, and is on the board of the groups telecom venture, Reliance Jio. He has a twin sister Isha and a younger brother, Anant.

The Ambanis and the Mehtas are residents of South Mumbai and the two families have known each other well for a while.

Akash and Shloka also have been close friends for long, too. The two met while studying at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai.

Even though both families have refused to comment on the wedding, buzz is that an engagement has been planned in Mumbai on March 24. The grand wedding is most likely to take place in Switzerland in December.
