PSG Superstar Neymar Filming Own Netflix DocumentaryBy 90Min

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is rumoured for his own Netflix documentary, with film crews 'regularly present' at the French club's training.

The Brazilian superstar famously became the world's most expensive footballer of all time when departed Barcelona to join PSG in a stunning €222m deal back in 2017.

Things haven't always gone smoothly for Neymar in Paris however. Despite winning back to back Ligue 1 titles, he has failed to progress past the last 16 of the Champions League, suffered with recurring injuries and has been heavily linked with a move back to his former club.

This season, the 27-year-old superstar has been in impressive form, having found the net 11 times in just 12 league appearances so far, while he has also provided five assists.

With the player never out of the headlines, Le Parisien report that streaming giant Netflix have begun filming a documentary about Neymar.

The report claims that film crews are 'regularly present' with the player and they have privileged access, both inside the training facilities and amongst his entourage.

Netflix themselves have refused to comment on it, but the number of cameras and the different locations indicate that it could be a multi-part series.

"All the big names on the market try to approach football and sports stars for series or documentaries. The next winners will be those who get Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi or Neymar," an Amazon representative told Le Parisien back in September.

The report also notes that while Amazon did make an offer, it was Netflix who managed to claim the rights to shoot the documentary of Neymar. Numerous clubs have already featured in documentaries, with Manchester City, Leeds United and Borussia Dortmund and others all allowing cameras behind the scenes for Amazon Prime. Tottenham Hotspur's 2019/20 season is currently being filmed.

Netflix, meanwhile, have produced content for Juventus and Sunderland among others, while they were also able to produce a documentary on Cristiano Ronaldo. Neymar would become the latest footballer to have his life filmed, but it remains to be seen when the documentary will be released.
