Major League Baseball is considering revamping their already-perfect postseason by increasing the number of teams who make it from 10 to 14. In addition, the best teams from both leagues would be given the opportunity to personally select their opponents in the next round.

Outspoken former New York Yankees star CC Sabathia offered his take on the new format on the excellent "R2C2" podcast, claiming that he would relish the opportunity to sneak into the playoffs and get "picked" by a top team.

Count Sabathia in the camp of people who aren't totally sold that this would be a perfect idea.

The most vocal critic of this new format has been Cleveland Indians starter Trevor Bauer, who claims that Manfred is "a joke" who "has no clue" about the game of baseball.

If Manfred listens to what the guys who play his sport are saying, he should realize that this new format, as it is currently constructed needs a LOT of fine tuning. Sabathia might be the former player who has heaped the most praise on the format, and even that was doused with a heavy dosage of criticism.

After all, isn't this supposed to be beneficial for the higher seeds? Who wants an angry mob breathing down their neck thanks to a little extra motivation?
