Jhulan Goswami, leading wicket-taker in women's ODIs, honoured with postage stampBy IndiaToday

Indian women's cricket team's star all-rounder Jhulan Goswami has been honoured with a commemorative postage stamp in Kolkata. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly was present at the unveiling on Friday at the Calcutta Sports Journalists' Club.

Jhulan became the first bowler to take 200 wickets in women's ODIs when she dismissed South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt in the second match at Kimberley of the three-ODI series in February.

On May 9 last year, Jhulan had become the leading wicket-taker in women's ODIs - incidentally, that feat had also come against South Africa when she had trapped Raisibe Ntozakhe leg before wicket during the Women's Quadrangular Series.

Indian players currently dominate the world record books in women's ODI. Skipper Mithali Raj is the leading run-scorer in women's ODIs and is ranked number seven.

Jhulan, 35, is ranked No.5 in ODIs.

In 2007, Goswami was named Women's Player of the Year. During the course of a landmark 12 months, she averaged 12.40 in Test matches and 21.80 in ODIs while her economy rate of 2.10 in Tests and 3.17 in ODIs showcased her excellent control and ability to contain.

Jhulan, who made her ODI debut in 2002, won the Arjuna Award in 2010 and two years later she won the prestigious Padma Shri.
