Lifestyle Upgrade at TechLife Expo 2019By Manila Bulletin

It’s an early Christmas treat for expo-goers during the first TechLife Expo held on November 15-17, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center – Manila, Pasay City as leading brands showcased their latest products and services. Visitors get to experience technology before they can even buy the products for amazing prices, including up to 50% discount on selected items.
The three-day expo highlighted the tech-integrated lifestyle where digital experience becomes seamless and more accessible to the Filipinos. The event officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Pasay City Mayor Hon. Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, SMX Director for Events and Banquet Janytte Siega , celebrity guest Alex Gonzaga and TechLife Expo Organizing Head Haidie Esmero.
Guests were able to enjoy three days of booth hopping and shopping and were able to take home loads of knowledge from industry thought leaders discussing various topics to help them upgrade their lifestyle through technology.

DAY 1
Alex Gonzaga relayed her journey as a celebrity vlogger and shared her piece of advice to aspiring individuals who would want to venture into video blogging, “You must love what you do… I love what I’m doing. I never felt any pressure in creating my first vlog because I did it for me.”

The first day of the expo also covered the hot tech topics including: redefining e-commerce and the new everyday selling lifestyle as presented by Carousell Philippines Head of General Classifieds Tina Bautista; social media security and privacy as discussed by Manila Bulletin Tech News and Business Tech Editor Art Samaniego, Jr.; and gamification in brands as told by Taktyl Studios Creative Director Tobie Abad.

DAY 2
The second day turned the spotlight to the World Robotics Olympians 2019 from Dr. Yanga Colleges, Inc. (DYCI). DYCI Novus invented a machine that detects fire, floods and earthquakes which has a capability to send warning to local authorities through an app. The machine can also dispense relief goods through an RFID system. The prototype might be as small as the young inventors but their solutions for disaster and risk management are promising. Meanwhile, he DYCI Junior Primes created an all robotic assistant for the blind.
Ash Mandhyan from Facebook talked about social media and its integration to people’s lifestyle to create an enriching experience. The afternoon session featured KASE Lens owner Mark Tristan Cua’s demonstration useful tips and tricks in mobile filmmaking back-to-back with Colwin Tanhehco’s talk on the future of the ever-upgrading smartphones.
Logitech Gaming Head Wesley Lopez, the last speaker of the day, gave an informative background on the emergence of e-sports in the Philippines.

DAY 3
The last day of the expo opened with an informative talk on the status of e-commerce in the country according to digitalfilipino.com founder Janette Toral. The presentation was followed by health and wellness speaker Jules Tandoc who encouraged attendees to follow the triangular cycle of healthy and wealthy way of living. Also, Felta CEO Mylene Abiva shared how the integration of robotics in the Philippine education system gave birth to young Filipino Olympians.

Logitech hosted daily Mobile Legends tournament while showcasing their newest gaming headsets.

Food and refreshments were made available by concessionaires Lotte Pepero, McDonald’s, Elen’s FoodHaus, RC Cola and Happy Cup.
