The Cleveland Browns' playoff ambitions took a massive blow on Sunday after a disappointing 20-13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

As is often the case with this Browns squad, the talk in the aftermath wasn't about football. Rather, it centered on the controversial "Pittsburgh Started It" t-shirt that head coach Freddie Kitchens was spotted donning on Friday.

After the loss, Kitchens and his players, including Baker Mayfield, were peppered with questions about their antics. As it turns out, Mayfield's wife, Emily, wasn't exactly pleased with the focus of the Q&A and took her indifference out on Twitter in the direction of Mary Kay Cabot.

It's almost as if the Browns are trying to make enemies with all NFL fans outside the state of Ohio.

The wife of a player -- who struggled incredibly and ultimately lost to a third-string quarterback in a divisional game with significant playoff implications -- calling out one of the most well-respected and accomplished reporters in Cleveland for asking an appropriate question is as laughable as it gets.

To defend her integrity, Cabot fired back at Emily Mayfield for lambasting her exceptional journalistic dexterity and instinct.

According to Mayfield's wife, Cabot shouldn't seek answers as to why Kitchens, the head coach of a professional sports organization, would wear a shirt that referenced a barbaric brawl that could've seen Mason Rudolph hospitalized and saw one of the league's most disruptive defensive forces suspended indefinitely.

Got it. Let's just all dispose of our moral compasses so Kitchens can play innocent.

Slowly but surely, the Browns are reverting back to the laughingstock of the NFL, despite them being only two games under .500.
