Foo Fighters pull three shows over 'family emergency'

Rockers the Foo Fighters have postponed three tour dates due to a "family emergency".

The Pretender hitmakers were scheduled to hit the stage at Lexington, Kentucky's Rupp Arena on Saturday (21Oct17) as part of their Concrete and Gold Tour, in support of their new album, but the gig was pulled hours before showtime.

On Sunday (22Oct17), two more shows were cancelled. The affected concerts were due to take place in Nashville, Tennessee on Monday (23Oct17) and Memphis, Tennessee on Tuesday (24Oct17).

Frontman Dave Grohl and his bandmates have already rescheduled the Kentucky event to 1 May (18), and the Memphis one to 3 May (18), while ticketholders for the Nashville stop will be alerted to the new concert date "shortly".

A statement issued by the group's representatives adds: "Foo Fighters apologize for any inconvenience caused and look forward to seeing fans at the new dates."

Officials have yet to share further details about which member of the band suffered the family emergency or the nature of the incident.

At present, the Foo Fighters are expected to continue their tour on Thursday (26Oct17) in Birmingham, Alabama.
