Queen Elizabeth's birthday: Will Meghan Markle send gift to monarch to make 95th birthday special?

By Meaww

In March 2021, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Queen Elizabeth's public birthday celebration, Trooping the Color, will likely be a low-key affair and distanced because of the pandemic. But after Prince Philip's death, and the recently concluded funeral, all attention shifts towards the Queen's birthday on April 21.

Recently, the Queen's birthday celebrations had an update, where a 'Rota' would keep her company and that it will be another quiet affair, according to reports. While the world awaits more developments on the Queen's 95th birthday, there's been speculations as to what Meghan Markle, the former Duchess of Sussex, would present her this time.

Will Meghan Markle present something to the Queen?

That's a question that remains unanswered. Previously, a Marie Claire feature said Meghan had gifted the Queen a singing hamster toy in 2017 for Christmas, much to the former's amusement.

"Meghan bought a little hamster that sings with a little rope for Her Majesty," a source said of the gift, according to The Sun. "It was so funny, especially when the corgis tried to take hold of the toy." The Queen was apparently a major fan and "burst out laughing" at the present. "It can keep my dogs company," she reportedly told Meghan at the time.

However, adding a dash of spice to these speculations were netizens who trolled Meghan saying "she forbid husband Harry to attend the birthday celebration. Recent reports suggest that Harry could delay his return to Meghan. "If all goes well, he could stay for the Queen’s birthday," a source told the outlet.

As far as the relationship between the Queen and Meghan is concerned, the 'Suits' star said it has been positive between the two of them. Even in her and Harry's recent earth-shattering interview with Oprah Winfrey, she maintained the Queen had been wonderful to her.

"The queen has always been wonderful to me. I've loved being in her company," Markle said, adding that the queen reminds her of her own grandmother. "She's always been warm, welcoming, and inviting."

"Meghan forbids Harry to attend the queen’s birthday as he jets out to LA. Family first but Harry leaves the queen in mourning to meet Meghan in their $50m LA mansion. Guevara heartbroken as Harry abandons his family in their moment of grief," one user tweeted, while another shared: "Apparently he’s leaving before the Queen’s birthday. Coward - running away." "Looks like Harry has decided to stay on for the Queen’s birthday, would be nice if he and the family can re-group. Although doubt Meghan will be happy lol," one posted.
