Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's wedding has been the talk of the town, courtesy the constant change in location as well as dates. It was early this year that the rumours of Sonam and Anand's destination wedding spread like wildfire. From Jodhpur to London to Geneva, rumours of a destination wedding has sent their fans into a tizzy. But latest buzz suggests that Kapoors and Ahujas are keen on a big-fat Punjabi wedding in Mumbai.
While the Kapoors have remained tight-lipped about the wedding preparations, reports suggest that the wedding is likely to take place in Mumbai between May 7-10. In fact, sangeet rehearsals have already begun in the Kapoor family.
So what exactly made Sonam-Anand shift their wedding destination from Geneva to Mumbai? According to a report in BollywoodLife.com, the Kapoors had a personal reason for the sudden shift.
"Yes, the initial plan was to have a destination wedding but it's because of Sonam's grandmother that they decided to change the venue and keep it somewhere close to their residence. Sonam's grand mom can't travel that far and the family obviously feels her presence is more important than the destination," a source told the website.
The wedding is set to take place in Mumbai in the first week of May. Buzz has it that names like Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are likely to attend the wedding.
On the work front, Sonam will be next seen in Veere Di Wedding. The film, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Swara Bhasker, will hit the screens on June 1.
