Bhoot Puts An End To Karan Johar And RGV Feud, Once And For All

Back in 2012, if anyone would have told us that a Karan Johar production would share the title with a Ram Gopal Varma film, we would have just laughed at the person. Karan and Ram Gopal Varma engaged in a long-lasting Twitter battle when RGV tweeted that he wants to remake Ravaan and wants to name it ‘My Name Is Raavan’ taking a sly dig at Karan Johar 2009 film ‘My Name Is Khan’. Never the one to be bogged down, Karan Johar tweeted back ‘ Great sense of humor Ramu. Doesn’t show up your films though.’ With this the world witnessed one of the most epic celebrity Twitter battle in Bollywood in ever. However, 7 years since the incident, looks like the water is really under the bridge. Dharma Productions’ next horror film starring Vicky Kaushal has been titled as ‘Bhoot’ which was the title of the 2003 superhit horror flick starring Urmila Matondkar and Ajay Devgn that was directed and produced by Ram Gopal Varma. So how much pain did Karan Johar had to go through to get the title for his film? Well, it turns out none. Talking about his experience, Karan Johar said, “We made an unreasonable request to Ramu, asking him for his franchise title BHOOT and he graciously and magnanimously agreed to give it to us without even blinking an eyelid. All of us at Dharma are blown away by his generosity and are eternally grateful to him. We aspire to make sure the title is in the right hands of horror.” Not just, Varma also re-tweeted the first look of the film from his Twitter handle. Vicky Kaushal also thanked the director for his generous gesture. Karan has talked about his feud with RGV even in his biography ‘An Unsuitable Boy’ where he has claimed that everything is fine between them. But despite that we were a pleasantly surprised to see the generous manner in which RGV has responded and we hope more and more people in Bollywood end their feuds the way these two did.

Why These Actors Choose Bobby Deol’s Shaheed Over Ajay Devgn’s The Legend Of Bhagat Singh Is Beyond Us

There are so many great personalities and leaders in India that has not only inspired us in our lives but also our Bollywood films. On such figure is Bhagat Singh whose life and struggles have formed the crux of many Bollywood films over the years. In 2002, however, there were a particular at least 3-4 films based on Bharat Singh hit the screen at the same time. Most notable among them was Ajay Devgn’s The Legend Of Bhagat Singh directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and Bobby Deol starrer 23 March 1931: Shaheed directed by Guddu Dhanoa. Both the films had Bhagat Singh’s life as the main plot line and released on the same date, June 7, 2002. But that is not where the similarities stop. Rajkumar Santoshi wanted to cast Aishwarya Rai as Mannewali in The Legend of Bhagat Singh. However, she was already working as Mannewali in Bobby Deol’s Bhagat so Santoshi went on to cast Amrita Rao for the role. The cast shuffling did not end here. Santoshi wanted to cast Sunny Deol as Chandra Shekhar Azad from the very beginning. However, Sunny put forward a condition that he would do the role only if brother Bobby Deol was offered the role of Bhagat Singh. However, Santoshi was adamant about casting Ajay Devgn for the role and Sunny and Bobby played the roles they wanted in Guddu Dhanoa’s film. Incidentally, The Legend of Bhagat Singh earned Ajay Devgn his second National Award after Zakhm.

Reportedly, Rajamouli is spending Rs.45 crores on a single sequence featuring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR. The scene will also have some 2000 extras shooting alongside the Telugu superstars. RRR starring Ram Charan Teja and Jr. NTR has been in the news not just for its scale but for also being the Telugu debut of Alia Bhatt. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday condoled the death of Ajay Devgn’s father and Bollywood’s renowned stunt director Veeru Devgan, terming it as a “great loss to the industry”. Ajay Devgn shared the letter written by the Prime Minister to his mother Veena Devgan on Twitter. “I am deeply saddened to learn of the demise of Shri Veeru Devgan who was widely respected for his outstanding work across various domains in the Hindi film industry.
