Saif Ali Khan Reveals He Got This Advice From Rani Mukerji When He Started Dating Kareena Kapoor Khan

One of the most good looking and adored couples of Tinsel Town, the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor Khan and the very handsome Saif Ali Khan are truly made for each other. Bebo met the actor on the sets of their film Tashan and she ‘fell for him hook, line and sinker’. Amongst bike rides in Ladakh and great conversations, they formed a special bond. After living together for a while, the royal couple tied the nuptial knot in 2012 and are now parents to the most popular star kid of Bollywood, Taimur Ali Khan. Well, Saif recently graced his wife’s radio show ‘What Women Want’ and revealed what piece of advice he received from Rani Mukerji when he started dating Bebo. He shared, “I remember Rani Mukerji told me once when we (he and Kareena) had just started dating, you and I, I don't think I had ever been out with a working actress before. She said, 'Just behave like you are in a relationship with a man'. So, I know what she meant. She meant that don't get into the gender of it. Treat it in equal like you've got two heroes in the house. Two people working and then you'll have no problems. And I think she is absolutely right.” The actor also shared what’s the one thing that should never be done in a relationship. He stated, “Well, I mean, broadly speaking disrespect, but very specifically don't be unfaithful. Don't attack the maid! It happens apparently.” We are eagerly waiting to see them share the big screen again! Aren’t you?

Dongri To Dubai: Amyra Dastur To Star In Farhan Akhtar’s Web Series Based On Dawood Ibrahim’s Life

Amyra Dastur has been roped in to star in Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's next production venture Dongri To Dubai. The web series, adapted from Hussain Zaidi's book ‘Dongri to Dubai: Six Decades of the Mumbai Mafia’, will be directed by Shujaat Saudagar of Rock On 2 fame. “They just gave me a character brief and dialogues to memorise. I did my best and after a few days I was called back for a second audition because they wanted to check if I could do the scenes in a different way to show my versatility. “Everyone seemed happy with my performance and Shujaat called me to the office for a narration. I loved what I heard and then requested the team to send me all the episodes to read before I gave them an official confirmation,” Amyra said in a statement. The show revolves around the life of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and captures his early life, the big mob bosses at the time and his gang. Amyra said she has read the book and has loved the world of gangsters that is created by the writers. “This show is adapted from a gripping book which I've read and loved. The power crazed gangsters and world of crime is what interested me the most. It's set in the 70s and 80s so you get to see a different side to Mumbai, the birth of Mumbai in a way. I have never done a period based project and the fact that we get to go back in time with this one was magic to my ears. The fact the Excel Entertainment is producing it was the cherry on the cake.” Dongri To Dubai will have a ten-episode season one. She will also be seen in a prominent part in Ali Abbas Zafar's next web series on Amazon Prime, starring Saif Ali Khan in the lead. The actor is happy to be doing work on the digital platform as she believes it has a wider reach. “At the end of the day, Web or OTT has a much further reach than anything today. It doesn't matter when or where you watch it because it's going to be there forever. That's the beauty of web,” she added. Film wise, she will be seen in T-Series' murder mystery Koi Jaane Na co-starring Kunal Kapoor.

Kareena Was Excited About Tashan When Shahid Convinced Her To Do Jab We Met; Went Into Depression As The Film Tanked

Ever since her breakup with Shahid Kapoor in 2006, Kareena Kapoor has rarely talked about it. However, in a recent interview with Film Companion’s Anupama Chopra, the actor talked in detail about working with him in Jab We Met, the breakup and how she met her husband Saif Ali Khan on the sets of Tashan soon afterwards. Kareena said that when she was on the sets of Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met, she was more excited about working in Tashan. She said she was the lead in Tashan, had lost weight for it, become ‘size zero’ and couldn’t wait to begin work on it as she thought it would ‘change her life and career’. Kareena added that it was Shahid, whom she was dating at the time, who asked her to consider the script of Jab We Met. “In fact it was Shahid who actually said that I should hear this script of this film. He was like, ‘It’s amazing, the girl’s part is amazing and you should do it.’ He kind of actually got this entire project together and both of us ended up doing this film,” she said. Talking about the breakup she said, “Of course, then destiny had its own plan and life took its own course. A lot happened in the making of this film and Tashan and our lives... We all kind of went our separate ways. And this beauty of a movie came out of it.” Kareena also talked about how doing Tashan also changed her life. “I think we just had to kind of do this movie at this time when Tashan was being made...and I met Saif. So I kind of did Tashan for that actually...when I actually thought that was gonna change my life and my career. But this (Jab We Met) changed my career and that (Tashan) changed my life. Because I did meet the man of my dreams and I did marry him. And this (relationship with Shahid) kind of took its own course in which both Shahid and me went our separate ways. And this gem came out of it.” She added that it all felt like a ‘game of chess’, ‘karmically connected’. Kareena added that her and Geet’s lives were going through similar situations at the time. “It was tough on me professionally and personally. Because if you got to see how her life took a turn in the second half of the film, a lot of my life took a turn as well during the making of the film,” she said. Kareena added that all her hope was still lying on Tashan and when the film failed, she was ‘depressed for six months’. “When Tashan bombed and this film went on to become what it was, I was shattered. I was depressed for almost six months. I was like, I can’t believe this has happened,” she said. But she soon realised ‘this is the way it was meant to be.’” Also read: Saif Ali Khan says he discussed the impact marriage would have on Kareena Kapoor’s career: ‘I think we set an example’ Kareena and Saif got married in 2012 and welcomed their son Taimur in 2016. Shahid got married to Mira Rajput in 2015 and has a daughter Misha and son Zain with her. Kareena will now be seen in Angrezi Medium with Irrfan Khan, in Laal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan and in Takht with Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and others. Kareena said Laal Singh Chaddha will prove to be her and Aamir’s best work ever. The film is a remake of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump.

After Saif Ali Khan's 'No Concept Of India Before British' Controversy Actor Says His Job Isn't To Divide People But Unite Them

From playing a boy-next-door in his initial films to dissolving his identity to disappear into myriad roles in the last two decades, Saif Ali Khan has gone through a sort of metamorphosis. Besides a cracker of a start he has had this year with two back-to-back successes — Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Jawaani Jaaneman — he also landed in trouble with a statement he made that backfired. We get talking to the 49-year-old.Your comment that ‘there was no concept of India until the British came’ drew a lot of flak. How would you like to clarify that? There are a lot of questions that one gets asked, that you have to answer over a long conversation, about history and politics. But, I’ve also learnt that (with) a lot of these questions, the answers tend to divide people — either they agree or disagree — which isn’t really our job. My job is to unite people, and I do that with the kind of films I do. So, I think it’s wrong to get into a situation which might divide people. So, from now on, I’d like to stay away from such conversations, and focus more on the positive things of my profession that’s bringing the country together. The past few years look like Saif version 2.0. Was it all planned? I think it’s a combination of a few things — the kind of films being made, roles being offered and the audiences, which has made things more interesting. The brackets are changing. It has given an opportunity to play varied characters. I really enjoy acting and I’m enjoying the kind of roles I’m getting. After quite a few intense roles, did you do Jawaani Jaaneman to step away from that zone? It’s true. You want to mix it up a little bit as an actor. I’d like to try and do a little more comedy, generally. I enjoy it. Also, I’ve had my share of intense parts. People also enjoy a variety, and I’d like to deliver that. You introduced urban romantic comedies in 2000s. Would you call yourself a trendsetter? I remember talking to Adi (Aditya Chopra; filmmaker) about that. He introduced the genre in India. I was part of the wave. At that time, multiplexes were coming up, so we changed the kind of films we made. From Amitabh Bachchan’s angry young man films to the movies that were made when Khans came in, to witnessing films like Hum Tum (2004) and Salaam Namaste (2005)... I’ve been involved in these changes. Also read: Filmfare Awards 2020 full list of winners: Gully Boy’s 13 wins make history, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh take top awardsDo you find romcoms to be an easy genre to pull off? They’re breezy! The crisis happens when something isn’t making you happy. They can be really funny also. So, as an actor, it’s both easy and difficult to pull them off. But, it doesn’t come naturally to everyone. I do enjoy romcoms; people enjoy watching them.Would you say subtlety is an art? It’s not easy to be easy. It needs control to look effortless. I suspect that our audiences like a bit of louder stuff before they call it acting. So, it’s difficult to be subtle. Chef (2017) didn’t do well; I believe it had a subtle performance by me. I worked so hard. But, may be audience believed that in this kind of a film, we aren’t really acting.

Siddhant Chaturvedi Is More Conscious Of What He Says After ‘Neptotism’ Controversy With Ananya Panday

Gully Boy fame actor Siddhant Chaturvedi is known for being jovial and witty during media interactions, but he says his words have often been taken out of context and he is therefore becoming conscious and filtering his words. Last year during an actors' roundtable where he shared space with Ananya Pandey, Siddhant's comment on existing nepotism in Bollywood had sparked off a controversy. "Now I am conscious of whatever I say. I filter things in my head because I realised that whatever I say might be taken out of context and blown out of proportion. I tend to respond to everything with a dash of humour and with wit because that is who I am in real life. But in no way do I want to hurt or belittle anyone. I was just speaking my heart out. However, every time my words are misinterpreted, so I will become conscious! Look, I am witty and it is my second nature to come up with smart oneliners. That's the real me!" Siddhanth told IANS. The actor is these busy days shooting for the film Bunty Aur Babli 2, that also features Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan, is directed by Varun V. Sharma, and produced by Aditya Chopra. It is a sequel of the 2005 superhit film Bunty Aur Babli. Sharing an insight, Siddhant said: "We sit and chat here in Yash Raj Studio, where I am shooting for Bunty Aur Babli 2. As a kid I used to be a huge fan of Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji and now I am sharing frames with them. It feels surreal! I am living in the best phase of my life. I am playing Bunty in the film, who is a con artist. I have more than five looks in the film. I cannot reveal much but I am so excited. We are making a super entertaining film and I cannot wait to share it with the world," he said. So, how did he bag the role? "I did not audition for the film, to be honest. Varun narrated the story and asked if I am interested to play Bunty. I was like, ‘of course, I will do the film!' I'd like to add that the story of our film is very interesting. While people loved ‘Bunty Aur Babli' that released in 2005, they will love our film even more!" Recalling his memory of watching the 2005 film, the 26-year-old actor said: " I would play the song ‘Kajra re' and dance. I would dance on ‘Dhadak dhadak' and ‘Naach baliye' on birthday parties of my friends. Bahut dance karta tha (I used to dance a lot). Who would have thought that 15 years later I would be playing the title role of the sequel!" The actor will also be seen in the upcoming directorial venture of Shakun Batra where he will be sharing screen space with Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday. "I have other projects lined up. So, yes I am now jumping from one character to another and living their lives. Ek time tha main vela tha, ab toh bahut kaam kar raha hoon (there was atime when I was jobless, now I have lots of work). God is kind," he laughed.
